Competed in ze 48 hour film festival, and to sum up for zose who don't know, you haf to write, shoot and edit a film and turn it in completed in ze span of two days. You are given a genre to base your story off and zhree pre-chosen elements to incorporate into your film at some point. Ze vinneir of ze festival goes on to ze national round.

Our genre vas "romance" and ze 3 elements eveiryvone needed to use vas A. A veterinarian named Jill or Jason Meyeirs. B. A portable music playeir. and C. ze line of dialogue "If we let them, they will get them." Not only do ve haf to use all zis in a film, but ve've got a limited time to do it, too! Sounds simple, right?

Ve spent all of Friday and much into Saturday writing and setting up locations, ze script finally completed around 4 or 5am. And our shoot began just two hours lateir at 7am on Saturday. Ve drove back from our writing headquarteirs to settle down for a nice hour and a half-long sleep (of vhich I only managed maybe 40 minutes) before ve got up grabbed some coffee and baaaagels and onto production.

It vas an amazing experience. I had no idea how much verk you can get done if you don't sleep, and it doesn't hurt if your friends/crew are also verking viz all effort tovards ze same goal. So I've pretty much gotten a total of eight hours of sleep for zis entire veekend. Exhaustion neveir tasted so satisfying.
